This charming cozy mystery is from by Mark Marks is from NetGalley and it was thoroughly enjoyable.  I read the book from start to finish yesterday evening curled up on the sofa with my husband watching some boring repeat on the television. 

Gone But Knot Forgotten is the third book of a series of cozy mystery novels with quilters as the protagonists.  What makes these quilt loving, mystery solving, ladies unique in the landscape of cozy mystery novels with the same basic premise?  They are older and Jewish which is the first thing that jumps out at you, then there’s the fact that they are friendly with the Jewish equivalent of a biker gang.  They have aches and pains that accompany old age, fibromyalgia, arthritis, and uncooperative joints all immediately spring to mind.  But physical ailments refuse to stop these wonderful protagonists as their minds are just as agile as women half their age. 

I will be on the lookout for the first two books of the series.  I usually prefer to read books in order but I didn’t feel lost not knowing what occurred in the first novels.  If you like non-traditional heroine’s, then pick up the series and enjoy a good cup of tea while the ladies of the quilting circle solve quilt related crimes.

Five stars because it kept me entertained and the plot was completely believable.  No it isn’t a great work of literature, but then again I read to be entertained and to live through a character for a couple of hours.  This book completely succeeded in doing that for me.
