Cean Sweep by Ilona Andrews was an audio book from the library. It is young adult, new adult urban fantasy.

Dina DeMille is an innkeeper in a small Texas town, where household dogs are being killed at an alarming rate. Dina is determined to do something about it before it becomes a bigger problem than it already is. Dina isn’t a normal innkeeper, rather she is a magical innkeeper where other magical beings can come to rest and recuperate.

This was an easy listen while I was stitching. It wasn’t taxing on my brain cells and it kept me interested just enough that I knew there was a story. However, was it engaging fiction that I am rushing off to read/listen to the next in the series? Nope. Is it perfect listening material for stitching, yes because it asks very little of the reader.

Dina and the cast of characters would be welcome into the pub but given the explanation for magic in this series, I don’t know how much in common they find with other protagonists in the pub.
